About FTS

The Friends of Tribal’s Society (FTS ) is a volunteer organization formed in January 15, 1989 with the goal of improving literacy among the Adivasi, rural tribal people in India. The society operates one-teacher schools in the villages, led by trained members of the local community. FTS operates Ekal Vidyalayas in Assam, Orissa, Bihar, Jharkhand, Madhya Pradesh, Chhattisgarh, Maharashtra and Karnataka.

The schools are led by society and a person who is trained as a teacher. The curriculum is mainly basic literacy in the language of the state.

Tree Plantation

This is the 2nd year PBS has taken part in this ambitious tree planting initiative. It forms part of PBS environmental responsibility strategy, in line with the company’s Corporate Social Responsibility, Sustainability and Environmental Policies.
